God is Like a Skunk?

Now that I have your attention!   Ann Charlotte has been asking a lot of "hard for mommy to answer" questions.  This morning when I was feeding Hooper it went like this:

Ann Charlotte:  Mommy, how do you know God is real if we can't see him?

Mommy:  Well Ann Charlotte, we know that God loves us very much and that he made us.  We have faith in God even though we can't see him.  Do you know what faith is?

Ann Charlotte:  No.

Mommy:  Faith is when you believe something even though you can't always see it.

Ann Charlotte:  Oh, kinda like the skunk (she didn't even skip a beat).

Mommy:  What? (I had no idea what was coming next)

Ann Charlotte:  You know, like when we smelled the skunk and we never saw him.  But we knew he had been there because it was stinnnnnkkkkyyy!

Mommy:  Well, yes, like the skunk, I guess!?
