God's Timing is ALWAYS Right

Watching Ann Charlotte play with Hooper has gotten me through the rough days and made me smile with delight on the good days.  She is a WONDERFUL big sister to him.  She entertains him when I am busy and she can always make him smile.  Even if he is crying, once he sees her and hears her sweet little voice say "Sissy is here baby brother, Sissy is here" over and over he stops crying and starts smiling.  She is a pro at fetching diapers (she knows his favorite one--too bad the entire pack isn't all baby big bird), burp cloths, blankets, you name it.  The only thing she won't help with is actually changing the diapers!

So, I was thinking tonight about God's timing.  If it were up to Trey and I, we would have had another baby about a year sooner than Hooper's arrival.  However, God's timing was just right for our family.

I know there are times when we don't understand God's timing and times when we think we know better.  This was a good reminder for me tonight that God's plan is perfect, even when it doesn't seem so in our earthly life.

This is my favorite verse right now as if you know me, I am a very anxious person.  And when things don't go according to my timeline, the anxiety grows stronger.

"Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice.  Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.  The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7
This was taken today!  Hooper's first trip to church!

  1. I'm right there with you. We started trying to get pregnant after Griffin was 4 months old and had Elliot when he was 2.5. Plus we are currently 2.5 years into an estimated 12 month adoption. I am so anxious and ready to get that baby home but I know that as soon as we bring them home we will know that the timing was in God's hands the whole time and that it will be perfect. Just hard to see in the depths :)

  3. Seeing them together gives me happy chills. The important thinking you share is tough to muster up the strength to be content with often. That verse is one I should have screen printed on to a t-shirt so I see it on a regular basis. I loved this. Love you.
