So, I was thinking tonight about God's timing. If it were up to Trey and I, we would have had another baby about a year sooner than Hooper's arrival. However, God's timing was just right for our family.
I know there are times when we don't understand God's timing and times when we think we know better. This was a good reminder for me tonight that God's plan is perfect, even when it doesn't seem so in our earthly life.
This is my favorite verse right now as if you know me, I am a very anxious person. And when things don't go according to my timeline, the anxiety grows stronger.
"Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7

I'm right there with you. We started trying to get pregnant after Griffin was 4 months old and had Elliot when he was 2.5. Plus we are currently 2.5 years into an estimated 12 month adoption. I am so anxious and ready to get that baby home but I know that as soon as we bring them home we will know that the timing was in God's hands the whole time and that it will be perfect. Just hard to see in the depths :)
ReplyDeleteLove this, Dubs. Love u, love the message, love the reminder.
ReplyDeleteSeeing them together gives me happy chills. The important thinking you share is tough to muster up the strength to be content with often. That verse is one I should have screen printed on to a t-shirt so I see it on a regular basis. I loved this. Love you.
