Three Birthday Beauties

Ann Charlotte's two good friends, Sloan and Joleen, all have birthday within a few weeks of each other. We all met at Stroller Strides and the girls just love playing together! Sloan and her mommy had us over and had a perfect party planned! We played, painted and decorated cupcakes! It was a perfect birthday party for three birthday beauties! Thank you Sloan and Bobbi!

Ann Charlotte loved watching the fish "Charlie"!

Weekend Fun

We went to visit Uncle C and Aunt LyLy for the weekend in Nashville with Acey and Cat! We had a great time! We miss them already! Ann Charlotte also got to play with one of her arranged husbands-Clayton Roach (proud parents: Tommie Sue and Taylor)

Girl...All The Way

As you can see from some recent pictues-I think that if I had to guess today I would say that Ann Charlotte will be a girly girl! Of course, what else would you expect :)

Ann Charlotte "Nose"?

That is right! I have been trying to get Ann Charlotte to say her name. (Note to self: if you want your child to be able to say their name before they are five do not make it 17 letters.)
So we were working on it before bed and we have "Ann" down pat and "Charlotte" is a total wash. However, tonight we could say Ann "GIBBERISH" Nose. Works for me! Ann Nose!

By the way, as I was typing this Ann Charlotte was having a fit in her room. I walked in to check on her: Mommy: "Ann Charlotte, did you go potty?" Ann Charlotte: "I do." It cracks me up every time!

Today we were outside all day unless we were napping! The weather was beautiful! Finally! We hope it stays for a while!

A Pinch Here, A Taste There...

Today was the first day of school! After school we baked cupcakes for a few friends! For some reason we didn't have enough batter for the 48 cupcakes :) For some reason our two batches only yielded about 30 cupcakes. Who knows?

I never thought...

that I would allow my child to wear character clothes :) That may sound a little uptight but had you asked me a year ago if I would ever buy any Sesame Street/Disney Princess/Dora, etc. clothing I would have said absolutely not (oh,and for the record I didn't buy this either)! However, I must say that since Acey and Cat got AC this nightgown she has been pretty excited about wearing it AND getting ready for bed! I have a feeling "MoMo" is going to fade real fast! Maybe I should look for a backup!

Oh, and yes they are Cookie Monster houseshoes! Goodness Gracious!

"I do"

Okay, this post is not what you think. It is not about wedding vows or about how much I adore my groom (which "I do"). But, it is about who else-Ann Charlotte!

Her new answer to everything is "I do." Sometimes it is grammatically correct and other times we just laugh. But without a doubt-we know what she means.

We have had "no" down for quite some time, but I didn't know if we would ever say "yes". Being that she is so advanced :) she skipped the one word reply-"yes" and answers all questions in a positive form as "I do". For example...

Ann Charlotte, would you like some more grapes? "I do"
Ann Charlotte, did you have fun at the park? "I do"
Ann Charlotte, do you want to go to the pool? "I do"
Ann Charlotte, do you know that mommy loves you more than you will ever know? "I do"

I know that I will laugh on her wedding day through the happy tears when she says "I do".

Bibby, Bibby, Bibby

Aunt Bibby (Trey's sister "Libby") arrived in Memphis today! She and Uncle JZ just moved to Chapel Hill,NC from Mobile, AL for his residency and she is in town for a visit. Ann Charlotte loves to find Aunt Bibby in pictures around our house and was SO excited that she was coming over tonight for dinner. All day I heard "Bibby, JuJu, Bibby, JuJu." We had a great time with Ju Ju, Bibby and Granddaddy. We wish that we got to see you more Aunt Bibby-hopefully someday we will!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

FINALLY-Last Sunday Trey (or Daddy as I must start calling him before Ann Charlotte only calls him "Trey." At first I thought that she was always talking about Trey McDonald (her bestest friend across the street) but now I think that she is using Trey for daddy too. Hmmmm...gotta nip this in the bud pronto!) arrived home after his two week trip to Australia.

We met him at the airport and Ann Charlotte could not stop dancing and singing around baggage claim. She was wired and so excited! Daddy's luggage was lost so while he was waiting, waiting, waiting she looked in his bag and knew exactly what to do! Pull out her kangaroo puppet and book that daddy had brought her and sit right down on the floor of the Memphis airport baggage claim to read her new book(Hmmmm...I had not thought about this possibly being where she contracted strep that she had all week in Savannah. She is all well now!)

We were so glad to have him home! Although he arrived last Sunday, Ann Charlotte went to my parents for the week and we are FINALLY reunited as a family tonight! Hip Hip Hooray! Whew, we have been hard to keep up with for the last three weeks. It feels so good to be together under one roof tonight! Speaking of that-I am off to bed.

Girls, Girls, Girls

This weekend Trey and I went to Atlanta to host a baby shower for a dear friend-Alyssa. It was so much fun catching up with "the girls." I miss you all like crazy and wish that we were not spread out across the map. It is amazing how we can pick up right where we left off and never miss a beat. I already miss you again! Cheers to babies being born because most of us will be together next weekend too to celebrate Nan and the "Beaty to be."

Less Than 24 Hours

Until Daddy lands in Memphis! He just boarded the plane in Sydney headed to the US. Whew, two weeks is a VERY LONG TIME! I know that he is SO excited to see Ann Charlotte (and me too, of course) and she has been saying "daddy?" over and over (note the question mark because that is exactly how she says it). She changes so much every day. Trey may not recognize his girls with their new haircuts (AC and Sadie) or our house (I did some rearranging one day when Mom was here)but we can't wait! Here are a few things we have been up to while Daddy has been away.

It was almost too hot everyday to play in the playhouse but somehow AC talked me into it one afternoon.

Ann Charlotte and Elenor were taking care of their babies while friends were playing in the sprinkler to keep cool at the Stockburgers.

Sadie got a haircut! Poor thing.

Ann Charlotte telling Elmo what to do-yes, she even tells Elmo "no".

Daddy is Down Under

"Daddy" is in Australia for a few weeks and we are keeping busy! We went to Savannah for the first part of the week to visit. Ann Charlotte was able to test drive a new ride that she may get for her birthday. Wal-Mart is the happening place in Savannah, Tennessee. I was home for two nights and I made three trips.

Ann Charlotte loves Acey's tub because it make bubbles!

We returned home last night and Ann Charlotte and Sadie ended up in the bath together. You DON'T want to know what happened before this picture-but the picture is cute nonetheless. (If you are curious it involves the very early stages of potty training, potty mishaps, and a curious canine.) Oh my!

Today was another busy day. Ann Charlotte went to "school" and then we got our second/first official haircut! It was in desperate need of some TLC. Thanks to the feedback on Facebook, we found Ci Ci at All Seasons Beauty Parlor. We were the only clients under 85 but Ci Ci was awesome and did a great job on AC's new 'do.

Later on we attempted to catch lightening bugs but were unsuccessful. Here is Ann Charlotte in action. I guess the lightening bugs at our house are in college-they don't make an appearance until the wee hours of the night. The "dusk party" must be old hat-they want to be fashionably late.

So far our "girls only" time has been great. We just wish Daddy was home to share in all of the fun!
