Princess Ann Charlotte

Wow, they grow up fast!  Ann Charlotte is really into "princesses" these days.   I think since her JuJu and her Granddaddy have both been royalty that she is in line for the throne!  (She certainly thinks so!)

"My Lovies!"

Ann Charlotte loves to say when she is holding her lovies that these are "MY LOVIES!"  Well, here are MY LOVIES!
Since we have been couped up in the house most of the week with the stomach bug, Trey took Ann Charlotte to CMOM this morning.  She has been begging all week to go to "the museum."  Looks like they had fun!

Band Aids Cure Everything

The tummy bug is making its way around Memphis. Ann Charlotte got hit in the middle of the night last night. She woke up crying about a tummy ache. We could not console her and she kept saying that she needed a band aid. Out of desperation, I got her a band aid and she immediately opened the package (which she has to do on her own) and put it on her tummy. Within minutes she was back to sleep. Later that morning when her tummy was rumbling again she asked for another. Within minutes she said her tummy felt better.

These band aids have Bible verses on them so perhaps that also helped ease the pain. It was so sweet that it almost made me cry!
She is resting now so please pray for a speedy recovery.

I am so Proud of...

One of my dear friends Lydia!   She has been working on this children's book for years and it is in stores now!   I can't wait to get my copies in from Amazon this week!  It is endorsed by the American Cancer Society and it is a phenomenal story.  It is about a little girl who battles cancer and looses her hair.  Please check it out!

Lydia, you are truly an inspiration to me and to so many others!

Awe

I am in awe every day with this little girl.  Tonight she said her prayers on her own...

Dear God,
Thank you for Daddy, Lovie and Mommy.  Amen

I could be discouraged that I was after Lovie but, hey, I take it as a compliment that I am in the same category as the other two!

Gosh, they melt your heart!

Let it Snow!

We have had quite the winter here in Memphis!   We took full advantage of the snow this week and went sledding with friends.  Later that day we went out to build a snowman and this is what I turned around to...

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...

Oh my!  Ann Charlotte loves the zoo!

Admiring her favorites- elephants, giraffes, zebras and of course-her Daddy :)

Poor Ann Charlotte had to say goodbye to the Zoo (sad face)!

(yes, these were taken a few weeks ago when global warming reared its head again :)

She Gets it Honest

Her mother LOVES to accessorize!

They fit no matter what size you are.
They add pizazz to an old outfit.
They make you look polished (Chi Omega term :)
They are so fun to shop for.

I think we have many shopping sprees ahead of us at June Lee!

Sweet Prayers

Each night before we start our bedtime prayers we ask Ann Charlotte who she wants to pray for.

Usually it is: Sadie, Daddy, Mommy, JuJu, Granddaddy, Acey, Cat, Uncle C, Aunt LyLy, Aunt Bibby, Uncle Jonathan, Palmer (seems that she only selects certain dogs...sorry to the other four legged kin-folks) So sweet!

Well, we were reading the book "Are You My Mother" a few nights ago and now every night she insists that we pray for the little birdie.  A few nights I have forgotten to mention him during our prayer and as soon as I say "Amen" she says...Mommy...you forgot the little birdie. So sweet!

Tonight we asked her if there were any of her friends that she wanted to pray for and she said: little birdie, chickens, pigs, sheep and raccoons (we are REALLY into raccoons!  We saw two in the front yard and we talk about them all the time)!  So sweet!

So, you can all sleep better tonight knowing that Ann Charlotte has prayed that God will bless the little birdies, chickens, pigs, sheep and raccoons.

Oh, and we have moved into our big girl bed!

The bed belonged to my grandmother.  Sita (my grandmother) was SO excited about Ann Charlotte.  She told everyone that she saw how cute she was from the ultrasound picture (what a cute nose she had to be exact).  Unfortunately, Sita did not get to meet Ann Charlotte in person ,but she is looking down on her everyday.    I know that Sita is thrilled that Ann Charlotte is saying her prayers and sleeping in her bed every night.   Ann Charlotte has several mannerisms that are JUST like Sita.  We all just laugh and say..."there is Pearline." So Sweet!

First Position

Ann Charlotte got ballet lessons for Christmas. Today was our ballet debut!  There are 5 two-year-olds in her class and the ballet teacher took them back without the moms to practice (she was a little apprehensive at first but warmed up to the idea).  I would LOVE to be a fly on the wall to hear/see what goes on.  She got a ballerina stamp on her hand and was so excited to come out and show me her new moves!

I think we are going to have a lot of fun with this!

Is a Fairy Tale they Say...

I love SNOW!  I still get giddy like I did when I was a child when the forecast calls for the white stuff!   Not much beats a snowman made by 10am and snow cream for lunch!

He was made of snow but the children know that he came to life one day...

R & R

The day after Christmas we packed up the car and headed down south.  We spent a few days with Acey, Cat, Aunt LyLy and Uncle C at the beach.  It was not "beachy" weather but we had a blast (someone insisted on wearing her bathing suit anyway).  We celebrated Uncle C's 28th birthday and all got some much needed rest and relaxation!

Someone had too much fun!  Ha, this is the only family picture we had from the trip.  AC was up way past her bedtime and she danced with everyone there!  (Don't worry, that isn't wine on her dress :)

Christmas as Seen by the Camera

We had a very very merry Christmas!
